"certain springs are tapped only when we are alone." - anne morrow lindberg

"Certain springs are tapped only when we are alone."

we went away this weekend. three short days of no tv, more nature, sun, fresh air, stress fighting and tears. sometimes there's no avoiding the nitty-gritty real life once there isn't any noise to distract you from it. i'm positive now that i don't let go enough to allow those moments happen.

i feel like i've got a lot to learn about surrendering to growth and real life. but when it happens, there's a peace i'm given that i can't gain any other way.

i've been struggling with similar things lately, and I agree with you completely. keep that heart open as best you can...:)

man, thanks elena. knowing i'm not the only one actually really helps! true words about keeping the heart open, too. it's so hard, but so important.

I like that quote; had never heard it before, but definitely agree.

That is a beautiful photo.

Take care of you, Elly. I hope that your time away was more restorative than melancholy. It is always good to take a break to get back in balance. Sending good wishes your way!

Thanks for the Iron & Wine link, too. I love him. This is probably my favorite song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFQoiy1A4yw

thanks ladies!

as far as the photo goes, we drove past so many forests bare from fire - some controlled, some accidental. there's something so amazing to me about forest fires. it's incredible how much it can actually end up restoring life! i'm no philosopher, but this definitely seems true in my life too.

Pretty much exactly what Elena said. It's always comforting knowing other people have trouble with the same things.

that sentiment struck a cord with me. there are always layers of feelings and it's good to peel them back every once in a while. keep on keeping it real and thanks.
